Dec 15 Meeting Speaker Bio

Catherine Jeffries

Mary Kay Consultant since 2007

A mother to a 4 year old and a 7 year old, not to mention a cat and a dog, Catherine Jeffries has learned to negotiate the precarious balance of motherhood and career. After a career in Early Childhood Education as both a preschool teacher and speech language pathologist, including several years as a working mother in the field, Catherine decided to switch her focus to adults. She turned her ability to mix fun and education into a career as a Mary Kay consultant. She loves the flexibility of the schedule and the time it allows her to spend with her own children. However, Catherine most enjoys the satisfaction that comes with helping women find their own beauty and sense of empowerment that brings.

The Mary Kay Company was founded by Mary Kay Ash in the 1960’s after she had retired from a full career in sales. A visionary leader, Mary Kay created her company to give women an opportunity to enrich their lives by providing an opportunity for financial success while balancing their lives around their personal priorities.

With scientifically proven skincare, such as the popular Timewise collection, and a full line of mineral cosmetics, the Mary Kay Company continues to be the best selling cosmetics brand in the US and has over a million consultants worldwide.

Through her website www.marykay.com/cjeffries5, customers can learn about Mary Kay products. Features such as the “Virtual Makeover” and “Make-up Artist Looks” allow customers to try out new looks from the comfort of their own home. Catherine’s favorite part of the job, however, is providing one on one and small group skincare and makeover sessions where she can offer information and suggestions while allowing the customers to try the Mary Kay line, and of course, she always keeps it fun! Catherine’s philosophy is that you should walk away from every interaction with a smile.

Let me help you find your most beautiful you.

For more information, you can reach Catherine through her website www.marykay.com/cjeffries5 or email her at cjeffries5@marykay.com

Hello there Moms, Inc. Members!

I’ll be speaking soon on the topic of greening our homes.

It’s really quite a simple proposition in light of all the wonderful alternatives to traditional household consumables we now have on the market. For example, you could easily shop at Whole Foods and avoid formaldehyde and many of the other harsh chemicals such as bleach and ammonia that take a real toll on our immune systems.

I’ll be introducing you to a much more economical way to green your home, in addition to sharing some information about why it is so important in the first place.

We’ll be learning that Home is Where the Chemicals Are! We’ll also learn that it doesn’t have to be that way.

As usual, I welcome and all comments and questions and look forward to seeing everyone real soon!

Wishing you a very green day,

Lisa Jo Finstrom

Happy Mother's Day!

MOTHERS

Real Mothers don't eat quiche;
They don't have time to make it.

Real Mothers know that their kitchen utensils
Are probably in the sandbox.

Real Mothers often have sticky floors,
Filthy ovens and happy kids.

Real Mothers know that dried play dough
Doesn't come out of carpets.

Real Mothers don't want to know what
The vacuum just sucked up.

Real Mothers sometimes ask 'Why me?'
And get their answer when a little
Voice says, 'Because I love you best.'

Real Mothers know that a child's growth
Is not measured by height or years or grade...
It is marked by the progression of Mommy to Mom to Mother...

The Images of Mother

4 YEARS OF AGE - My Mommy can do anything!

8 YEARS OF AGE - My Mom knows a lot! A whole lot!

12 YEARS OF AGE - My Mother doesn't really know quite everything.

14 YEARS OF AGE - Naturally, Mother doesn't know that, either.

16 YEARS OF AGE - Mother? She's hopelessly old-fashioned.

18 YEARS OF AGE - That old woman? She's way out of date!

25 YEARS OF AGE - Well, she might know a little bit about it!

35 YEARS OF AGE - Before we decide, let's get Mom's opinion.

45 YEARS OF AGE - Wonder what Mom would have thought about it?

65 YEARS OF AGE - Wish I could talk it over with Mom......

The beauty of a woman is not in the clothes she wears,
the figure she carries, or the way she combs her hair.

The beauty of a woman must be seen from in her eyes,
Because that is the doorway to her heart,
The place where love resides.
The beauty of a woman is not in a facial mole,
But true beauty in a woman is reflected in her soul.
It is the caring that she lovingly gives, the passion that she
Shows, and the beauty of a woman with passing years only grows!

Present Yourself Authoritatively: Command Respect, Communicate Confidence, and Convey Competence

When you speak, do people stop and listen attentively? When you make suggestions or propose an idea, do you do so with authority and confidence? When you say "no,” do you sound like you mean it? When you walk into a room, do you command a "take charge" presence that people respect? If you feel doubtful or uncertain, do you still come across to others as confident and sure of yourself and the situation?

When you present yourself authoritatively, everything about you—the words you say, how you use your voice and body, your positioning, how you look, your presence, and first impressions of you—communicates confidence and respect. Impress your clients, colleagues, and organization decision-makers, and build stronger relationships when people perceive you to be secure with yourself and caring about others.

In this session we will explore ten behaviors that enable you to present yourself authoritatively in order to command respect from your audience, communicate self-confidence, and convey competence with your expertise.

By the end of the session participants (you) will be able to:
· Identify ten behaviors that enable you to present yourself authoritatively as a confident and competent professional, and
· Recognize areas where you want to be more effective in how you potentially come across to and communicate with clients,
using the resources provided in this program and shared with each other.

Sylvia Henderson, Chief Everything Officer (CEO) of Springboard Training, facilitates workshops, speaks, and writes on the “people skills” for workplace and life success. She is host of Montgomery Municipal Cable Channel 16’s “Think About It!” television program. Greetings everyone,

At our next meeting, I have the honor of sharing a little information with you about SendOutCards. I will not spend a lot of time talking about SendOutCards, but rather showing you how to send a real printed greeting card from the comfort of your home or office computer. Some features that I will touch on is our birthday reminder system, the contact manager and card campaign manager. SendOutCards is for business or personal use, whether you have customers, prospects and referrals that you want to keep track of or family members and friends that you would like to stay in touch with. You click send and SendOutCards prints, stuffs, stamps and mails your greeting cards.

I am looking for a volunteer please. This person will send a real greeting card to someone. So you would need to think of someone who maybe hasn't heard from you in a while, or someone who's birthday is coming up, a thinking of you card, nice meeting you card, get well card, etc... Have the persons address at hand. You will be assisted in this process and have the option of sending your recipient a gift. Choose one of the following: Brownies, Avenue Sweets, Cookies, Caramel Popcorn, Cheese Popcorn, Books (As A Man Thinketh, Success For Teens), Motorcycle Care Kit, Auto Car Care Kit.

If anyone is interested, please e-mail me at laquashia@gmail.com

I look forward to seeing all of you.

What is the consequence of not achieving each goal? How will I
measure progress? We will be discussing some of these questions as
well as exploring some tips to reaching goals and some obstacles that
you may face with achieving your goals.
