Speaker Bio - Ginny Robertson - July 20th, 2011

How to Promote Yourself With Confidence, Grace & Ease.

Self-promotion is a must do for successful entrepreneurs. However, depending on our background, it can be one of our biggest stumbling blocks. Maybe you grew up hearing that it's not polite to talk about yourself or to "brag." Or that girls were to be seen and not heard. Now you're all grown up and in business for yourself where you must talk about yourself, what you offer and how good you are at offering it. It's not always an easy transition.

Or maybe you were an excellent salesperson ...for someone else. Sales skills don't always transfer easily from selling someone else's dream. But when it's your own dream and the perceived rejection feels personal...it can stop you in your tracks.

Couple all of that with not being sure what to say and how to say it when you do talk about yourself and it can sometimes feel overwhelming.

Ginny Robertson will walk you through a process that can help you identify what it is that you're offering and how to talk about it. She will address the fears that surround this process and give you an opportunity to gain some good feedback.

Ginny Robertson is President of Ginny Robertson LLC, an organization that “Connects Women Around the World to their Gifts, Their Purpose and Each Other.” She facilitates workshops, speaks to large numbers of women’s groups throughout the year and is the Founder, Publisher and Editor of On Purpose Woman Magazine, a free publication distributed in Maryland and Northern Virginia. In 2000, she founded On Purpose Networking for Women which holds meetings each month in Bel Air, Bowie, Columbia, Derwood, Lutherville, Middle River and Pikesville MD and in Arlington VA. Frederick and Annapolis will be added in the fall. She is a contributing author to two anthologies: The Spirit of Women Entrepreneurs…Real-Life Stories of Determination, Growth and Prosperity and Conscious Choices…An Evolutionary Woman’s Guide to Life and is the former co-host of WomanTalk Live Radio.
