“My demanding life as a wife, mother and executive, provided the
management and lifestyle experiences that are so important to helping my
clients." I was a team leader, educator and coach in Montgomery County
Public Schools. I was a local, state,
national and international union leader traveling
throughout the United State and the world.
I know how difficult it is to complete your ‘to-do list’.”
While at home, Ms. Smith was a typical wife and mother to her
husband, Reynauld and their son, Husan. “My
nephew, Alex came to live with us at the age of 11, a critical age for any
child. Three males and me! At one point, we even had a male dog. So everyone pitched in to clean, cook and
wash.
Education was very important to us, so my husband, also a teacher,
and I said, “If we go to work every day, the boys’ jobs are to work at
school.” And they did. Both excelled as scholars, athletes and in
the arts (music for Husan and drawing for Alex). Today, Husan is in education and Alex is in
the hospitality industry.“
Ms. Smith currently is a Second Vice Chair of the Montgomery College (MD) Board of Trustees and Vice President of Ivy Vines Charity, Inc., the Charitable Foundation of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Theta Omega Omega Chapter. She has a bachelor's degree in education from Tuskegee University, a Master’s Degree equivalent and an Advanced Professional Teacher Certificate.
