Shelley J. Row is a life-long over-achiever and recovering over-thinker. Her career as a transportation engineer started in 1987 when women engineers were few. She learned to excel in a man’s world by being strong and tough, and preparing thoroughly. Logical, rational thought was the key – to a point. In time, Shelley realized that she could not think her way to the executive level. It took the power of both her intellectual and intuitive mind to reach the top. As a senior executive, Shelley served as the Director of the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Intelligent Transportation Systems Joint Program Office where she managed a staff of highly-skilled, technical professionals and a $110 million annual budget. Shelley is an award-winning leader with top honors in her agency. But life guided from her intuitive mind had more to offer.
